As part of our discussions about Earth Day last week, the children worked together to create a vibrant collage made entirely of plastic bottle caps:
We worked on it each morning... |
...and added a bit more each day until... |
...it was done! |
Here it is out by our cubbies for all to see until we find a more permanent location. |
It looks beautiful! I love it! Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I was surprised how colorful and cheerful it ended up to be... Thanks for your kind words!
DeleteWell, here is an idea of what to do with all of those caps that I collected for the sole purpose of using them for alphabet learning (only to find something I like better). HA!

Thank you! I'm very glad you find it useful. Thanks for reading!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering how you managed the project each morning. Was it a rotating roster of students, a couple each day, getting a turn to glue down some caps until all students had a turn and then started again until the board was filled? I am just envisioning a mass of students wanting to do this all at the same time! As cute as that would be.... ;D
ReplyDeleteDid you have them bring in caps through March leading up to Earth Day? Have them bring them in each day in April and glue them down as they came in?
Thanks in advance for your input!
Hi Heather,
ReplyDeleteWe collected the caps for several weeks leading up to the project. Then, we had the children glue several caps on each morning. I had the project set up at a table for four children at a time. After a couple of days, the children themselves kept track of who had placed their caps on for that day. I took about a week or so so fill it up...
